ESAFETY YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL

June 2022

Tamara has been appointed as a member of  Australia’s eSafety Commissioner's new council. In this position, she will help to give young Australians a voice in shaping online safety policy for the future and designing youth-centred initiatives. Announced by the Australian Government in December 2021, the council will advise the government about issues young people experience online and explore ways of supporting them to have positive online experiences.

Tamara is a participant in the Girls on Cyber Security Advancing program. This program includes intensive workshops and competitions. Tamara has also qualified for illuminate: nextgen Challenge as an extension from the GICSA challenge.

DRAGON'S DEN - YOU BE THE JUDGE 

September 2021

As a part of AustCyber week, 2021 ten innovative companies were able to deliver a three-minute pitch, with a panel of expert judges, including Tamara Baker. As a part of this event audience members received CR$100,000 (fake ‘Cyber roo dollars’) to invest in their favourite companies, with the winning pitch crowned ‘Australian Cyber Week 2021 Pitch Day Champion’.

ASD WORK EXPERIENCE

Tamara was specifically chosen to participate in this select
entry program which included education and activities around threat emulation; cyberspace operations planning; incident response; data collection and analysis; and incident mitigation strategy development.

INTERNATIONAL GIRLS IN ICT DAY

April 2021

Tamara joined Dr Muneera Bano and Corien Vermaak to present a variety of schools all over Australia about the latest trends and opportunities in technology to celebrate International Girls in ICT day.

KIDS SECURIDAY PANELIST AND KEYNOTE

February 2020

Pitchfest is an online production that gives young adults the opportunity to pitch their charity and business ideas to a panel of leading entrepreneurs and business people from around the world. Tamara was able to participate in this program and pitch her idea to get more kids involved in technology at a younger age to Lisa Messenger, the founder and CEO of Collective Hub, an international speaker and a best-selling author and Lana Wilkinson, a highly regarded Stylist and Australian Fashion icon.

SPILL THE BEANS BOARD MEMBER

Tamara is a member of the Spill the Beans Advisory Board and was interviewed as an inspirational kid for the month of August. Spill the Beans runs online and in-person events, enabling kids to voice their ideas, stories and inspiration.  Each month, incredible kids get to unleash their inner voice on this global platform.

SCIENCE INDUSTRY SCHOOLS PARTNERSHIP

Tamara was a keynote speaker at the SISP (Science Industry schools partnership) program in Griffith, NSW including presenting to 1,200 students.

KIDS SECURIDAY PANELIST AND KEYNOTE

SecuriDay is an event aimed at children (aged 6 to 16) and their parents/guardians. This was an event for people from all areas of the community who want to expand their knowledge, be inspired by the sector, and have fun while doing it

Tamara spoke as the main keynote in Melbourne and Canberra for the 200 attendees.

CSO AND AWSN SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD

September 2019

Tamara was presented with a Special Recognition Award at the Inaugural Women in Security Awards. This was in recognition of her innovation and excellence in inspiring the next generation in IT excellence. This included being interviewed for the CSO website.

AUSCYBER 2019 CYBER WEEK CHAMPION.

October 2019

The Australian Cyber Conference was attended by over 3,600 people. As part of her participation, Tamara wrote an article and was interviewed for AustCyber promotion.

2019 MELBOURNE KNOWLEDGE WEEK AMBASSADOR

May 2019

Tamara represented technology as the only Ambassador under 18. In that capacity,  Tamara was interviewed live on ABC 774 Radio, appeared live on ABC TV  show "The Packdown" and gave several speeches including at the launch of Melbourne Knowledge Week and on the Sunset Talk hosted by Madeleine Dore. She also taught a Generative Patterns Coding Workshop as a part of her Ambassadorship.

CODE LIKE A GIRL AMBASSADOR

Tamara is an Ambassador for Code Like a Girl, a social enterprise providing girls and women with the confidence, tools, knowledge and support to enter and flourish in the world of coding. The ambassadorship included being interviewed with Code Like A Girl's co-founder Vanessa Doake on ABC radio show "Life Matters". Tamara has also attended over 20 days of Code Like A Girl workshops.
